Something stirs beneath my feet!
The Earth flexes,
Stretching its epidermis,
Shaking the foundations of civilisation.
Has all we have accomplished
Been built on nothing more than a layer
Of something far greater?
Is our majesty and grandeur so illusory
As to mean nothing in the greater scheme?
A chill wind, the breath of the world,
Shoots past and through me
And I know the answer is yes.
