In Voice

 “I’m a fool.”
 “Why?”
“To have never seen you before.”
 “We’ve only just met.”
 “I should have searched.”
 “How could you know?”
 “My heart’s always known.”
 “Your just saying that.”
 “Touch it.”
 “I can’t see, it’s too dark.”
 “Listen.”
 “Is that your heartbeat?”
 “It used to be.”
 “How d’you mean?”
 “It’s yours now.”
 “Hmm, I like its rhythm.”
 “You do?”
“It’s as though an orchestra’s playing a waltz across my fingers.”
 “That’s because you’re its conductor.”
“Have you always been so smooth?”
“I don’t feel like I’ve ever had an always, until now.”
“What will you do when I have to go?”
 “Go with you.”
 “You’d do that?”
“I am going to do that.”
 “And, if I stayed?”
“I should devour every moment of you.”
 “Promise.”
 “Always.”
 “Never let me go?”
 “Never.”
 “Then, I’m yours.”
 “You didn’t have a choice.”
 “Hmm!”

      1. Again, I have no need to worry about a halo. But I can’t imagine reaching such literary heights. Sigh.

      2. I certainly don’t say it to drive you nuts … but I am an intelligent woman that also recognizes talent and can ascertain the differing degrees. ๐Ÿ™‚ You are just too kind for your own good, sometimes. But I love you for that!!!!! Can my badge be purple and black, please? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. โ€Have you always been so smooth?โ€
โ€I donโ€™t feel like Iโ€™ve ever had an always, until now.โ€ I absolutely adore this! ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. I doubt you are as “unsmooth” or “shy” as you claim, but I will not complain as long as you keep writing.

  2. This kind of love always sounds good–until you start watching true crime shows–where obsession leads to violence, murder.

  3. oh Richard, you are a slick talker. lol ๐Ÿ™‚
Pray for the girl who eats up all that charm.

p.s. i swore long ago that words or song would never sway me. I am a cynical smart lady now. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. โ€Listen.โ€
    โ€Is that your heartbeat?โ€
    โ€It used to be.โ€
    โ€How dโ€™you mean?โ€

    Perfect!
