Darkness pulled the duvet over day and never lifted it back. A world where time was measured in two halves became unmeasured, an indivisible continuity of the whole. Humanity panicked. Citizens knew fear. A world wept ebony tears. I laughed, as I owned a torch. But where were the batteries?
