50 Word Stories: A Shade Away From Magic

Lost and alone, the child wandered the valley. A deep fog hung over the landscape, a cloying shroud of almost night. Was it night?
The boy brushed away glittering cobwebs, called his mother’s name. Like an angel, she was there, a reassuring warmth with her embrace, making everything magical again.

  1. Children have been on my heart a lot of late. I thank you for the like on my poem yesterday For The Children! which told of horrors they should never be involved in. Today we had a family farewell dinner for my oldest son who is leaving the nest, so my heart is feeling different echoes of sadness and love. My poem tonight describes that. It’s called How Big is Love? This poem is a perfect fit. thank you Richard πŸ™‚
