50 Word Stories: Stuck

The whale was stuck. Having swum across an ocean, the leviathan had taken a left instead of a right, and ended up beached in an English river. The beast didn’t thrash, squirm or bellow, just wept. Huge football-sized tears fell from its eyes. I knew just how it felt.

  1. Sometimes it’s a matter of concentrate on the writing and not the story, but both are combined. I felt so sorry for the whale, in the story but your writing especially with the tears was also wonderful.
