In Sight of Shangri-La

In sight of Shangri-La
We flounder
Respite one bed too far
Rolling hills turned mountains
Forcing jagged peaks between us
Tumbling rocks
The debris of wasted lives
So much dust on the ground
These particles of life
Stirred by bitter winds
Whipping us away
Over sacred flags
Shangei-La watching us depart
With weeping eyes
As it does so many
