2013 Blog of the Year

Blog of the Year Award 6 star jpeg

I have been lucky enough to be nominated for the blog of the year award by not one but two of my favourite fellow bloggers on WordPress. They are the lovely Patty at http://petitemagique.wordpress.com/ and the ever wonderful Morgan at http://booknvolume.com .

I could ramble on about how much admire their work all day, everyday. I have not and probably never will class myself in the same league as either of them. Both blogs never cease to amaze me with their creativity. Morgan’s poems are as good as you will find anywhere and Patty’s creativity is unparalleled. The fact they are both wonderful people too is an added bonus.

The Rules for this Award are:
1-Select the blog(s) you think deserve the Blog Of The Year 2013 Award.
2-Write a post about the blog(s) you have chosen (there are no minimum or maximum number of blogs required) and ‘present’ the blog(s) with their award.
3-Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the instructions with them- (please don’t alter the instructions or the badges!)
4-Come over and say hello to the originator of the Blog Of The Year 2013 Award via this link:http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/blog-awards-2-/blog-of-the-year-2013-award/
5-You can now also join the Blog Of The Year Award Facebook Page. Click the link here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BlogoftheYear to share your blog posts with an even wider audience.
6-Finally, as a winner of the award, please add a link back to the blog that presented you with this award-and then proudly display the award on your blog- and start collecting stars!

In accordance with the blog rules here is my nomination.

I have only gone for one for a couple of reasons. The first is to highlight how much joy her blog brings me. Every single post makes me smile or gasp with delight. The second reason is that there are easily a dozen blogs that I could give this to and would feel terrible at leaving one or the other out. So, even though I think Morgan may already have nominated this lovely lady I would like to nominate Barb at her Acuriousgal blog.  http://acuriousgal.wordpress.com/ Please check out her wonderful images and witty remarks. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks as always to the WordPress community for being wonderful.

The Imagine Award

Now a little tidbit about THE IMAGINE AWARD:

“The Imagine Award” is an award that was created by Jenn Mulherin (who is the writer of the blog “My Fibrotastic Life!”) in October of 2013. This award was made in order to recognize the bloggers who express their passion and dedication towards their blogs through their creativity.

Here’s what you need to do to accept the Imagine Award:
In a post dedicated to this award:
1. Copy and paste The Imagine Award into your post.
2. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link their blog page to your post.
3. List 3-5 things about the nominator’s blog that you like (which you think are very creative).
4. Nominate 5 other bloggers/blogs which you think display a fantastic use of creativity and imagination.
5. Notify your nominees.
6. Display The Imagine Award to your blog’s award page.

As the rules state here I am only too happy to thank Morgan from booknvolume.com for nominating me for this award. There are lots of great poetry blogs on WordPress but only a few that I absolutely have to read everything they post. Morgan’s blog is one of the ones I use as my own personal benchmark to quality. If I can be half that could then I’ll be happy. Always innovative, superb in rendition, subtle in use of complimentary images and always a breath of fresh air. Please check out her blog if at all possible. Here is the link http://booknvolume.com/

The same goes for my own nominations. Each blog here is exceptional for the quality, variety, and fantasy of there imaginations.

3: http://words4jp.wordpress.com/

4: http://whywritingisgoodforthesoul.wordpress.com/

5: http://helenmidgley.wordpress.com/

I apologise to all my friends out there, as how can I only pick five from so many wonderful blogs. The above writers and poets probably offered the largest bribes or threats upon my personal safety, (Only Joking!) But in all honesty I could easily have picked thirty. All the best to those I have nominated and I hope they accept in the spirit this particular award is meant.

Liebster Award

Em over at http://ateenagersmemoir.wordpress.com/ has nominated me for a Liebster Award. It always takes me by surprise when people seem to like what I do but it makes me very happy and extremely grateful. Thanks again, Em.

The Liebster Award Rules:
You must link back the person who nominated you.
You must answer the 10 Liebster questions given to you by the nominee before you.
You must pick 10 bloggers to be nominated for the award with under 200 followers
You must come up with 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
You must go to their blogs and notify your nominees.

10 Questions I answer:

1) What is your worst habit?     I’m far too competitive.

2) What is the one thing that you will never do again?  I will never ever go to A & E during the night and then wait 5 hours to be seen.

3) What happened the last time you cried?  It was when I said some words at my Nanna’s cremation. I will never forget it.

4) If you could have one superpower for one day, what would it be and what would you do? I always wanted Spidey’s webs. I think I’d web up a few people then cheese it.

5) What is your most embarrassing moment?  Being strip searched at Geneva airport in front of people.

6) If you could go back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?  Be happy, first and foremost.

7) What is the most scariest thing that has ever happened to you?  Confronting a gang of lads who were stealing. They backed down but I didn’t realise what a nut I was until after the event.

8) What was happening the last time you were really nervous?   I was doing this.

9) What would people be surprised to learn about you?   I have no writing training at all even though most people think I have.

10) What is your most favourite thing to do?   Write, especially if I can do it with a beautiful view.

Here are my questions:

1. Ice-cream or cake?

2. Winter or summer, and why?

3. What was your happiest moment?

4. What is your favourite book?

5. Talking on the phone or messaging?

6. Where’s the best place you’ve visited?

7. What is your favourite animal?
