Rainstorm Wishes

Rainstorm

A droplet on my arm
A splutter on my shoe
The rain it starts to fall
To clean the air anew
Tapping on the broad leaves
Tinkling on the small
The rain it stars to pour
A robust little squall
Torrential now the downpour
Raging through the streets
Filling up the gutters
Wetting children’s feet
Splashing in the puddles
Running off the kids
The air is filled with water
The city hits the skids
But as the darkness lightens
The rain it starts to slow
I’ll have to wait till Christmas
For it to turn to snow
