Richard M. Ankers is the English author of The Eternals Series and Britannia Unleashed all published by Next Chapter. Richard feels privileged to have had stories and poetry published all over the world. He lives to write.
A prolific writer, a constant source of clearing his mind, Richard has created this website to share just some of the many poems and prose he has written that would otherwise have fallen by the wayside.
Reading and writing have always been Richard's main love along with the pursuit of keeping fit, running, walking, and anything that provides a spectacular view.
Running in the rain with his headphones on whilst dreaming up some future storyline is just about perfect. It would be nicer still if that run was in Switzerland or Norway, but we can't have everything.
Oh, and coffee, lots and lots of coffee.
Crinkled thoughts attempt to unfurl Words and letters – damn this ruination! Divided by force, separated Folded in upon themselves Mountainous in their minuteness Kissing the wrongness of the misplaced Meeting parts of me I’d rather they’d not Meeting the worst, as there is no best Who am I kidding? Crinkled thoughts can never unfurl
I’m very proud to have my poem The Dropped Veil – A Winter’s Tale included in their debut issue. Plus, thanks to the fluke of being born with a surname beginning with ‘A’, I’m presented second in the magazine.
Please take a few minutes to read what Arvilla has assembled, as the work is incredible.
I’m delighted to have had my latest children’s fantasy, The Gemini Crystals, published by the amazing people at Starspun Lit. Below is a small sample of their mission statement and my reason for such delight.
Our mission is to provide fantastical stories to the youth of today and improve children’s literacy and comprehension of the larger world through our digital platform.
Our stories are also designed as a therapeutic tool for children with medical needs, including those with neurodevelopmental disorders so they may soar beyond reality. We are partnering with various hospitals and clinics to organize read-alouds so we may brighten their days with the magic of your storytelling.
As a strong believer in that every child should have access to good reading, I jumped at the chance to be a part of this wonderful narrative. My hope would be for many more such schemes to come.
Particular thanks go to Editor-In-Chief, Ramya Suresh, for her invaluable help and input with both the writing and artwork.
I hope you get a chance to recommend my story and all the other fabulous offerings at Starspun Lit to any child who might enjoy and benefit from them.
I’m delighted to announce that my dark fiction short story, Ripples, has been included in the newly released anthology: Wreckollections: Invasive Ideas of a Nightmare.
A very big than you to Gabriela Marie Milton at Literary Revelations Press for publishing my latest micro-fiction, Like Bubbles. It’s only a nice short read, so I hope you enjoy.
