Introductions
Hello everyone.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you enjoy the stories and poetry posted here. Most of the works are now new after having given the site a seven-year makeover.
As for me, what can I say? I live to write and write to live. The best of both worlds. I write far too much and hoard most of what I do, hence here. My website is a little place to highlight, and hopefully have people enjoy, the ones that got away.
I am the English author of The Eternals dark fantasy series – (Please see more about my Novels on their own page).. I have featured in Expanded Field Journal, Love Letters To Poe, After The Pause, and feel privileged to have appeared in many more.
When not writing, I love reading, running, all sports, and walking through beautiful scenery. If I lived in view of a mountain with a stream running through the bottom of my garden, I’d never resurface. I have the world’s worse memory and have caffeine-laced blood.
I have two sayings: 1. I’d rather be a happy pauper than a wealthy zombie. 2. Never give up on your dreams, and never let anyone tell you you’re not good enough. You can be.
Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoy the poetry and prose on the site.
PS: You’re supposed to write these in third person, and professionally I would, but when dealing with friends, that’s far too impersonal.
Yours Sincerely
Richard.

Sorry Richard I must have accidentally unfollowed you – I realised I hadn’t seen your poetry today and investigated… Sorry!!
No need to apologise. I just get to see your grinning face extra. LOL
You have made your right decision, definitely! There is nothing more sincere than writing!!! Wish you lots of love and inspiration!

Thank you very much. I hope you like it.
Good Day Sir Richard, hope you are well.
Been roaming your woods and been having a grand time.
Question for you if you would indulge…the mountain pic with water on your blog. It looks familiar, very similar to my home in BC Canada. May I ask where this is?
Lookking forward to reading more of your spirit.
Cheers and Howls
It’s in Norway. The place was pronounced ‘Shy’ but spelled Skei or something like that, I can’t remember. It was lovely though.
my fav trail is in a place called Belcarra along the Indian Arm in BC. I have a photo that is near exact to yours. Very beautiful. Cheers
You’re welcome
Your words are beautiful. I usually only read your poetry but have just come across your writing section on the blog and am in awe – your writing here is even more beautiful when you have less structure. I hope that one day I too have the courage to quit my job and do what i love like you! best of luck
Thank you, Melissa. I really appreciate the kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed the offerings 🙂
Hi Richard! I will be moving my blog and shutting this one down. I hope will continue to follow me, you can find me at http://pennylanethoughts.wordpress.com/
Hope to see you there!
Penny

Thank you very much that’s very kind of you.
You’re welcome, it was my pleasure 🙂
Richard, I am so glad to have found your blog. Your poems are wonderful. I am sure that you will find a publisher for your novels if they are as rich and deep as your poetry certainly is.
Blessings ~ Wendy ❀
Thank you for such kind words, Wendy. They are very much appreciated.

It’s ok LOL
Congrats, Richard, on winning the Authonomy award! I recall when we “met” on Authonomy way back when. I am glad to see that you are still at it, have dedicated your time to writing, and are encouraging others as you did even then! I apologize for not returning to Authonomy and I still have that email somewhere where you encouraged me to come back! Well, as it turns out, that novel I had up, The Hand of Refuge, is available for purchase on the publisher’s website and will be in stores on May 27. Now, I am working on a sequel to it, as well as returning to my old fantasy series with some various tweeks! I wish you the best! Perhaps now, I can return to Authonomy. Not as a writer wanting to get published, but as an author helping others achieve their dreams.
Blessings!
Anthony
Hi, Anthony, great to see you. Yes, I got my award, but it took that long in review that I wrote two new books whilst waiting (LOL) the first is out trying for a publisher. I got very disillusioned with Authonomy, good books got overlooked for rubbish and I’ve barely been on in a year.
I’m delighted for you. That’s fantastic news about your book and you’re obviously enjoying writing the second. I think that’s all that matters really.
I hope life is treating you well stateside and you weren’t bothered too much by that terrible weather.
Hope to see you around here,
Richard.
hello darling! just letting you know that i’ve nominated you for “the versatile blogger award”! can’t wait to read random facts about you!! xoxo
Very kind of you, thank you. I’m randomly boring you’re better off not knowing LOL
Lol no one is boring! No such thing really! We’re each a delight at least to someone out there 😀
At least one, I hope LOL
Very interesting and inspirational blog. Thanks for liking and following mine. Regards from Indonesia 🙂
Glad to do so your pictures are stunning.
Thank you – Risty
🙂
Thanks so much for the follow Richard! I adore your blog!
You’re welcome. To be honest, I thought I had (I’m hopeless LOL)
Hey, many times I thought I’ve followed blogs, only to find out I didn’t. I blame WP…LOL 😀
Good idea, I’ll blame it too 🙂
You got me at ‘coffee, lots of coffee’
Beautiful and intriguing writing. I’m happy Morgan pointed your creme de la creme blog out!
Thank you very much that’s very kind of you. I can’t help but feel Morgan’s making me sound better than I am, but I’m very grateful to her, and yourself for the follow.
Richard
Morgan is a gem! And no, in my view, her words are true.
Most welcome, looking forward to follow your writing.
Likewise 🙂
Brilliant 🙂
Hi Richard! I have nominated you for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Even if you choose not to participate in awards, please know that your words have inspired me. I enjoy reading your blog and I am happy to have you as part of my WordPress community.
http://carriepage.wordpress.com/2014/05/01/inspiring-042014/
Thanks, Carrie, I appreciate you thinking of me 🙂
Thank YOU for teaching and inspiring so many! 🙂
Don’t learn from me😁!!!! I just write it like I feel it. It’s probably all wrong but it makes me happy 😃
Hello, Richard!
I’m sincerely grateful that you’re following my blog. Not only does it give me a chance to read your artfully crafted writing, but it warms my heart to find that someone with such immense talent actually finds me worthy of following! I’m glad that you resigned from your job to live your passion. I hope to do that someday, as I believe that if we’re not embracing our creativity daily, then we’re not really living. You’re an inspiration!
Adelie
The pleasure’s all mine, but thank you for your kind words.
Leaving work to write was the only option I had in my own mind, so I never think of it as being inspirational, but you are absolutely right with your reasoning.
All the very best, and never think of your own writing as anything less than a joy for others to read.
Richard
Hi Richard,
I’ve tagged you on this post :

Best,
Eric
Thanks, Eric, I appreciate the thought but I’ve already been asked and declined. Not quite my thing. It’s probably for the best that my mind is kept from the public LOL
Thanks again 🙂
Understood, and you’re welcome 🙂

Thanks for asking, Morgan, but I’ve already been asked a few times and it’s just not me. I’d be embarrassed.
lol I know what you mean, I felt a little “braggy” when I was writing mine. Wanted to offer though 🙂
Great blog. Thank you so much for visiting mine.

Thank you visiting, and the like on my blog. 🙂
I’ve just followed too. I thought I had but WordPress keeps messing up. 😁
Thank you for following my blog. Yes WordPress has been giving me a few problems, since the recent update.
Glad it’s not just me. I have a terrible memory and don’t realise people’s blogs have disappeared until they remind me.
As the cliche goes..out of all the things I lost, I miss my mind the most. Technology will keep you sharp.
Technology doesn’t like me LOL
LOL. It can be a challenge. There were many days I wanted to toss my laptop, but I can’t live without it. I don’t know what I’ve become. 🙂
More modern than me that’s what 😉
LOL! 🙂
Love your poetry! Great blog! You have tremendous courage to quit your day job and follow your heart! Fortunate for all of us readers!
Thank you. That’s very kind of you to say. I don’t feel I had much choice really. I couldn’t have lived with myself if I hadn’t 🙂

Thank you for thinking of me, Hagen. 🙂
Catching up with reading your posts but it seems for some reason I cannot comment on any of them. Have you shut off comments on your newer posts for some reason?
Yes, I have, Elaine. Won’t be for too long. 🙂
Have you turned off comments laddie? I don’t even read some of your posts, but I show that I have liked? I can’t comment? WP stated I wasn’t following you… Erm uh what the?
I have turned them off for a little while but that’s no excuse for dumping me 😉
I didn’t I swear. But I just came in to your new one and it has my face looking back at me, saying I’ve pressed like, which I was about to, but it’s done it for me. 😒 I understand about the comments, sometimes it’s nice to have the break.
More than nice.
I still am in a quandary that I go I to to read yr posts and it appears I already have and liked.. Confucius say… What the? 😜
Has Australia turned on me? Have I made one Koala joke too many? It’s just not right, not right at all!!!
Seems so strange not being able to comment, lol
You just have 😳
Ha ha 🐓
